Beck Consultants (BC) has been in conservation for many years. The principal founder has a vast knowledge in environmental management and has been assisting EAP’s and working in partnership as an ECO in the Eden District for a few years.
As an Environmental Control Officer the projects have been undertaken:
• Rondevlei lakes road project (reporting to Western Cape Government Roads Department & DFFE as well as SANParks).
• Eden Districts waste dump site (reporting to Eden Districts & DFFE).
The principal founder holds a four year degree in Bachelor Landscape Architecture (1991 – 1994) from the University of Pretoria.
BC has been implementing management plans as an ECO’s also in Estate Management. These include Zimbali Coastal Resort (Natal) as well as Pinnacle Point (Mossel Bay). This includes setting up new estates including Clarens Saddle & Trout (Free State) and Wedgewood (Port Elizabeth). This includes overseeing the EMP’s through to the OEMP’s, in relation to the approved ROD’s on each development.
Experience includes agronomy with qualifications including: Certificate in Turf Grass Management (Cum Laude -1996) from the Pretoria Technikon; Certificate in Turf Grass Pest Management (Pretoria Technikon -1998) as well as a Certificate in Basic Irrigation Design (1998) from the Turf Irrigation association of SA. Turf grass management experience in managing the Gary Player Golf Course (Home of the Million Dollar Golf Challenge -Sun City) for six years, in the role of the Golf course superintendent.
Experience in running community environmental projects in Mossel Bay, includes partnership with the Municipality: Community Estuary Project - 2012 & Firebreak Community Project (2013). Including the founding of the Mossel Bay Fire Protection association (2007-2012).
